Rugby Union Academy 2024

Narre Warren South P-12 College launched the Rugby Union Academy in 2023 for our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students. We have partnered with Academy Movement, Rugby Victoria and the Melbourne Rebels to deliver a high level Rugby Academy which will expand to Year 11 in 2024 and Year 12 in 2025.

Application Process
Students will be required to fill out a google form application to be considered for the Rugby Academy. https://forms.gle/V1zR5VauVig8JBeP7

The application also requires a coach's/PE teacher reference
Applications Close Friday August 18th  2023

Practical Rugby Class Sessions
Members of the academy will participate in high level structured practical rugby union periods every week as part of the program.
Members will also have a special school rugby uniform to wear during practicals

Theory Rugby Class Sessions
Members of the academy will complete exciting theory sessions relating to topics such as:

• Nutrition

• Fitness and Exercise prescription

• Goal Setting and Healthy Habits

• Sports Strapping and Taping

• Officiating

• Sports Psychology

Qualifications and Accreditations
Members of the Rugby Academy who complete until the end of Year 12 will gain:

• Smart Rugby Coaching Accreditation

• Level 1 Rugby Referee Accreditation

• First Aid Qualification

• VET/VCE Certificate III Sport and Recreation

• 5 VCE Units
