On Thursday the 8th of August, in partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria, we held an artist workshop for students and their families. We felt very honored to be able to provide this special opportunity free of cost to our school community, thanks to the funding provided by the NGV Education program. Ethiopian-Norwegian artist Olana Janfa, who is now based here in Melbourne, led the workshop based around the current Africa Fashion Exhibition showing at the NGV International. Participants designed their own outfits using a range of different materials and dressed up their paper doll. Students and their families were encouraged to express their cultural identity and personal style through the outfits that they designed.
