Reptile Encounters Primary EAL students

On Thursday, July 25, all the Primary EAL students in the withdrawal program attended an incursion at school at the Pavilion. They got to see many Australian native animals up close and personal. There were 3 separate events to cater to the interest and understanding of the students. Nevertheless, each student had an opportunity to see, hold, and pat the animals amongst which were a cute little ringtail possum, a saltwater crocodile, a red-tailed black cockatoo, a couple of pythons, a shingleback lizard, and a Murry River short-neck turtle. The presenter, Bryce, from the zoo in Burwood, was extremely knowledgeable about the animals he had brought along and answered the many questions asked by the curious kids. It was hard not to feel joyful and happy to see the kids smiling. What a great opportunity for the students and teachers to get this close to the animals we may never see in the wild.
